Hello and Welcome!

My name is Kevin Patague (pah-tah-geee) and I am a seasoned Graphic Designer with a keen eye for visual elements and unique characteristics that tell a tale. I am a San Jose native born and raised, coming from a humbling background with proud immigrant parents from the Philippines. Growing up in the south bay area, I have been fortunate enough to experience rich, diverse, multicultural customs and Silicon Valley business influences. I earned my Bachelor of Science – Graphic Design degree from the Art Institute of California – Silicon Valley in 2012 and since then have applied core design skill sets I have learned in various professional fields from non-profit healthcare organizations, finance, motorcycle engineering, sports entertainment and currently in tech hardware. Through these unique experiences, I have been able to dabble in various creative mediums including print, web, motion graphics, storytelling, copywriting and brand development. My successes in these mediums start with identifying key objectives and goals, research and collaborating with fellow teammates on formulating steps on achieving these objectives.

As a Graphic Designer, I attribute these foundations to produce effective deliverables

Identity

When presented with a project, it's important to identify all of its unique characteristics to fully understand its identity, scope, and purpose. These elements are what dictates the direction of a project.

Visual

With this foundation, it aims to align design principles to produce visual elements that effectively express the identity of a project. These principles include color, scale, hierarchy, balance, contrast, rhythm, pattern, white space, movement, variety, and unity.

Storytelling

When identity and visual elements have been established, they work hand in hand to give the project keyholder a story that can connect, communicate and trigger an emotional impact with target audiences.
